International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year’s campaign theme is #ChoosetoChallenge

IWD 2021 (1)08 March 2021

‘A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. How will you help forge a gender equal world?

Celebrate women's achievement.

Raise awareness against bias.

Take action for equality.’

The Vale of Glamorgan Council will be marking International Women’s day in a variety of ways.

Cabinet Members Cllr Lis Burnett and Cllr Kathryn McCaffer were interviewed by Bro Radio for a special piece marking International Women’s Day.

Our OD and Learning Team will be issuing a variety of resources this week to raise awareness of:

  • Women’s Health;
  • The effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on women working at home; and
  • How to make the workplace more equal.

So keep an eye out for the Learning café emails this week.
