Council buildings reopen to the public on a controlled basis
From today residents in the Vale of Glamorgan will be able to access some services in Council buildings if they have booked an appointment

Library services, which have been operating on a click and collect basis since June, will be open for members of the public to access services such as computer areas and browsing for books for the first time since March.
Barry, Cowbridge and Llantwit Major libraries will be open from today.
There will be strict restrictions on the number of people allowed into the buildings at any one time.
With safety at the forefront of plans to reopen the following is in place:

Anyone entering the building will be asked to use hand gel and complete a track and trace card giving their name and contact details.

Chairs will be removed from the libraries to discourage sitting.

Toilets will be closed to the public.

There will be no meetings, activities or room bookings available.

Library staff will work behind protective screens when at a desk and wear visors at other times.

All books returned will be quarantined for 72 hours before being cleaned and put back into circulation.
At the Civic Offices the following services will be open by appointment only:

Registrars;
-
Benefits;
-
Council tax; and
-
Cashiers.
As with libraries, safety measures are in place to protect staff and members of the public.
Staff are asked to please continue to use the rear entrance of the building. Some members of the public may be queuing for an appointment, a member of staff from the relevant team will collect them.
Please remember to maintain a social distance of 2metres at all times. Anyone attending an appointment at the Civic offices will be asked to wear a mask, santize their hands upon entering the building and provide contact details for Test, Trace, Protect.
