Vale Rainbow Heroes

In recognition of the hard work and dedication of our staff during the covid-19 pandemic, the Council has decided to pay a public tribute to our #ValeRainbowHeroes

Friday 1 May, 2020

A series of signs thanking frontline workers have been placed on roundabouts at key sites in the Vale of Glamorgan today.

  • care workers;
  • waste crews;
  • PPE team;
  • C1V and Crisis Support team;
  • hub school staff; and
  • care home teams.

In addition to the new road signs we have been sharing some stats on social media which gives a small insight in to the huge effort each of these teams has made over the past few weeks.

The engagement on these posts (likes and re-tweets) shows just how much residents appreciate the work of the Council and teams like this.

Rob Thomas, Managing Director, said:

"We wanted to use road signs to thank these teams for a number of reasons. In recognition of their hard work during this crisis, in order to show appreciation for the work that they do and to highlight to the public what the term 'key worker' can mean and the variety of services that the Council provides on which residents rely.

"We hope that our staff see these signs as they go about their vital roles and it shows them just how much we appreciate them".
