Planning Applications

Ensure that proposed new developments support the Council's Unitary Development Plan and national and regional planning guidance.

When Planning Applications are submitted, the local Town/Community Councils are also consulted and you should contact the Clerk to the relevant Town/Community Council if you wish to know when that Council will be considering the Planning Application.

Smaller planning applications, such as extensions and conforming developments, are determined under powers delegated from the Planning Committee to the Director of Development Services. These decisions are made weekly.
