Enchanted Elves and Fanta-stick Fairies with Sticks & Stones + Nature's Little Adventures

Glamorgan Heritage Coast Centre

Hunt for signs of elves and fairies in the woods, create your own woodland fairy or elf, build a tiny den and make miniature, magical meals in the mud kitchen.

Drumming workshop - with Children's Musical Adventures

Group of nordic walkers with their walking poles

Age Cymru, Nordic Walking Courses

Age Cymru offers regular Nordic Walking courses at Cosmeston Lakes for the over 50s. The courses are run over five consecutive weeks, each session lasting approximately two hours. Days and times vary according to demand. All poles are supplied for the course. 

  

The sessions give an opportunity to try out some of the techniques in this fast growing and enjoyable form of exercise.

With a variety of woodlands, beaches and commons there are plenty of places to explore by foot across our countryside and coastal areas. Pop into one of our visitor centres for walking guides, orienteering routes, maps and nature trails.

Cycling

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is now easily accessible for cyclists along the road from Cardiff to Bridgend. You can also take a ride through our country parks and explore the nature and wildlife along the way.


Sea-swimmers

Water Sports

With 14 miles of coastline, it’s no wonder that the water is a hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Visit the Heritage Coast Centre or Cosmeston Lakes for more information about surfing, kayaking, diving, paddle boarding and windsurfing.
