The Index release newsletter & education booklet for families of children with additional needs

The latest Index newsletter, as well as a brand-new education booklet, is now available to support families of children with additional needs in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Index Newsletter front coverThe Index is the Vale of Glamorgan's voluntary register of children and young people with disabilities or additional needs. It aims aims to give a clearer picture of how many children and young people with disabilities or additional needs there are, and through Families First Grant funding support, enables us to work together with other agencies to help better coordinate services. 

If you live in the Vale and have a child/young person with a disability/additional need or awaiting an assessment, you can sign up to the Index online. 

Once signed up, you will receive weekly Ebulletins and twice-yearly Newsletters with information on activities, financial help, family support, education, transition and more! 

The latest edition of The Index Newsletter for children & young people with disabilities or additional needs is out now. Released twice a year, the newsletter showcases inclusive & accessible activities & services available to you in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Index launch education booklet for families of children with additional needs

Education Booklet Front CoverA brand new education booklet is now available to support families of children with additional needs in the Vale of Glamorgan - whether their child has received a diagnosis, is awaiting an assessment, or has emerging needs.

It explores alternative learning options, highlights available support, and offers tips and guidance such as suggested questions to ask staff when visiting schools.

Although aimed at parents and carers of children that have received a diagnosis, are awaiting an assessment, or have emerging needs, the booklet is also for anyone else who can benefit from it.

Developed in collaboration with local partners, the new education booklet will be updated every 6 months, offering families up-to-date information to consider when thinking about alternative education options.
