The Vale Food Trail launches later this week

Vale food trail logoThe Vale Food Trail is a calendar of events designed to bring people closer to food producers and businesses in the local area.

In line with the Council’s Project Zero pledge to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2030 the festival aims to promote sustainable food practices in the local area

The Vale of Glamorgan Council's Economic Regeneration and Strategy and Partnerships teams are helping organise this year’s event along with a host of supportive partnerships.

 The event will run from 09 June until 18 June at various regions throughout the Vale of Glamorgan including -

Visitors and locals will be able travel around the region, independently visiting a variety of more than thirty producers, restaurants and other businesses, which showcase climate and nature-friendly food.

The festival received funding via the Sustainable Food Places Good Food Economy campaign grant, and The National Lottery’s ‘Awards For All’ grant.

Louise Denham, Sustainable Food Places co-ordinator at Food Vale, said: “It’s exciting to see the plans for the Vale Food Trail come together, and to imagine how this trail might help foster a better appreciation of our local farmers and food businesses - as well as potentially creating fertile ground for sustainable businesses to grow in the Vale.”
