Vale of Glamorgan Spring Clothes Swap

Christmas and New Year can be a particularly expensive time. Many of us are feeling the financial strain from the season and the cost of living crisis.

The Sustainable Communities for Learning team and Project Zero have teamed up to hold a clothes swap for staff at Civic Offices.

Many of us will have clothes that we don’t want or need and are thinking about donating it to our local charity shops.

Instead of donating to your local charity shop, perhaps you would like to donate it to colleagues and pick out a new outfit for yourself?

Have a spring clean and refresh your own wardrobe at the same time.

How does it work?

  1. Have a sort through your unwanted clothes at home.
  2. Drop them off at Civic Offices between the 23rd January-27th January
  3. On Wednesday the 1st of February between 12pm-2pm the Council Chamber will be open to all staff to come along and browse the donations and take away whatever they like free of charge. There will be teas and coffees available.

Fast fashion is cheap but usually poor quality and is one of the most polluting industries in the world. Up to 10% of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions are produced by the fashion industry each year.

It isn’t just bad for the environment, many fast fashion brands don’t pay their workers well and the working conditions can be dangerous due to the toxic chemicals that are used in the manufacturing process.

Save the planet and take the strain off your wallet.
