Microsoft Office 365 rollout resumes

The rollout of Microsoft Office 365 will continue this September following a pause during lockdown.

ICT Services have had their work cut out for them over the past few months, with a sudden culture shift from having the majority of staff working in office spaces to the majority of staff working remotely.

This had a knock on effect on the rollout of Office 365 to various teams and departments within the organisation.

However, with a new focus on remote working the process is new ready to resume and at a quicker pace than originally planned. The schedule for migrating the remaining teams to Office 365 is due to be complete by the end of October, two months ahead of what was originally planned.

If you are not currently working on Office 365 you will shortly be contacted to explain the process.

Please note ICT will require some information from you before the upgrade can be completed, therefore please be ready to take swift action when you receive the email.

Some of the benefits of Office 365 include:

  • Microsoft Teams - get on the same page with group chat, online meetings, calling, and web conferencing.

  • Outlook - work efficiently with email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and more—together in one place.

  • OneDrive - safely store and collaborate on documents and more using OneDrive for Business.

  • Word, Powerpoint, Excel - the latest versions of the apps you already know; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

These are just some of the key features that you will be able to use as soon as you are up and running with Microsoft 365.
