Hi, my name is Amber, I am a social worker in C1V- Adult Intake & Assessment Team, for the VOG. 

Why I joined Abl

I joined ABL due to having first hand experienced of having multiple ‘hidden disabilities’, which create added challenges to overcome in day to day life.

I have experienced how the challenges can be both minimised and maximised, depending upon the working environment I find myself in, and the level; of awareness and support my manager is able to provide in terms of reasonable adjustments, insight / awareness and practical support ton carry out my role.

Future aspirations for Abl

My goal in joining ABL is to help spreads awareness, and create both a social and corporate positive change in order to improve the working life’s of people with disabilities by providing a fair playing field as well as for the Vale of Glamorgan community we are here in our roles to serve.

Instead of focusing on the ‘disability’; lets focus on drawing out the strengths of each employee’s ’Abilities’ so we can unite and thrive as an organisation.
