Garden Waste

Annual garden waste collection subscriptions are now open for 2025/26 at 2024/25 prices.

 

If you’d like us to collect garden waste from your home, you can sign up for a garden waste collection subscription. 

 

If you already subscribe to the service, your subscription will not automatically renew for the 2025/26 service. Please subscribe again using your existing account if you wish to continue having your garden waste collected. 

 

 

If you’d prefer not to subscribe to our garden waste collection service, you can still take your garden waste to your local household waste recycling centre for free or compost it at home.

 

Annual subscriptions 

Annual garden waste collection subscriptions are now open for 2025/26.

  

If you sign up for an annual subscription, we will collect your garden waste every two weeks between 03 March 2025 and 28 November 2025. 

 

You will be able to book winter garden waste collections as you need them between 01 December 2025 and 27 February 2026. Collections will not be available for two weeks over the Christmas period. 

 

Residents who sign up before 10 March 2025 will be able to subscribe to our early bird offer from £36 per year, the same price as in 2024.   

 

The Council is currently reviewing all its charges for 2025/26 and prices for garden waste subscriptions may increase after 10 March 2025.

  • £36 for up to 8 bags per fortnight 
  • £54 for more than 8 bags per fortnight 

Don’t want to subscribe for a full year? You will have the option to subscribe to a half-year service from August.

If you have previously subscribed to our garden waste service, please use your existing account to subscribe for 2025/26 collections. Please do not create a new account.

  • Pet bedding used by non-meat-eating animals, such as hay, straw or wood shavings

  • Soil, stones or logs. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Invasive weeds such as Japanese knotweed. Please arrange for a specialist contractor to collect this and dispose of it safely
  • Any garden furniture, whether plastic or wooden. Please take these items to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Animal or human faeces. Please put these items in your black bags
  • Pet bedding used by meat-eating animals. Please put these items in your black bags
